Brimstone by Robert Parker

Brimstone follows Robert Parker’s Resolution and Appaloosa as the third adventure with characters Virgil Cole and Everett Hitch, as Old West gunmen.  As the title implies, they find themselves in a town names Brimstone, as their year long journey in looking for Allie French ends here.  I recommend this book for many reasons that make Parker a favorite author of mine…  Spenser, Jessie Stone, Sunny Randall series… but especially for the dialogue between the two friends and their integrity – being the law – and enforcing “right from wrong”.

Another brilliant story by C Cussler.  Very believable – as I finished this, there was a news story on the radio about biomedicine.  If you liked any of his books you will like this one.

Rembrandt’s Ghost by Paul Christopher

While I like the story, it was far too confusing with all of the foreign cities , ports and rivers.  Also, Finn and Billy did an awful lot of traveling for an out of work historian/art appraiser and an “impoverished” lord.  Still an enjoyable quick read for the beach.

While I enjoyed this story with Lang Reilly, it is just scary how almost everyone he contacted got killed.  If you like to read about mysteries involving church this is a good one.

Mr & Miss Anonymous by Fern Michaels

While I generally love Fern Michaels, this book was not her best.  Still moving with the donor egg and sperm storyline, but she brought in the “talking spirits” from the vigilantes series.  In the vigilante stories it is cute, but something else was needed here.

French Women Don’t Get Fat by Mireille Guilano

This book was full of surprises.  For a diet book it was very moving.  It was about so much more than how to eat.  It was about how to live and not be sucked into following the masses to your own detriment.  A good read for all.
