A must read! A 1943 classic novel about a young girl, Francie Nolan, growing up in Brooklyn tenements with her much loved, but unreliable alcoholic father, and hard-working mother. Francie loves to read and wants to better herself through education, but has many obstacles to overcome. Brilliantly written.
