A must read! A 1943 classic novel about a young girl, Francie Nolan, growing up in Brooklyn tenements with her much loved, but unreliable alcoholic father, and hard-working mother.  Francie loves to read and wants to better herself through education, but has many obstacles to overcome.  Brilliantly written.

Seventeen year old Madison has died, but she finds herself surrounded by objects she lost during her life.  Each one takes her back to that place in time.  She has the chance to view and even change moments in her life.  This story is how she makes sense of her life and death and finds her way to the Everafter.

A young girl is forced into marriage with a sickly boy too young to really be a husband.  When he dies her mother-in-law leaves her to defend herself against the world.  How she learns to survive and thrive and even find love along the way.  Great read!
